About DevRules

The comprehensive directory for .cursorrules and .windsurfrules configurations.

Our Mission

DevRules was created to solve a fundamental problem faced by developers working with AI coding assistants: the lack of high-quality, curated rules configurations that unlock the full potential of these tools.

While AI assistants like Cursor and Windsurf are incredibly powerful, their effectiveness depends heavily on the rules and configurations that guide their behavior. Without proper rules, these tools can produce inconsistent results, miss framework-specific best practices, and fail to align with team coding standards.

We believe every developer deserves access to production-tested, expertly crafted rules that accelerate their workflow rather than spending hours crafting rules from scratch.

What We Offer

Curated Rule Sets

Every rule in our directory is reviewed for quality, accuracy, and practical value.

Framework-Specific Rules

Rules tailored for Next.js, FastAPI, Flutter, React, Vue, Django, and more.

Community Driven

Our rules come from experienced developers and open source maintainers.

Our Story

DevRules started when our team noticed we were repeatedly creating the same rule configurations across different projects. Each time we started a new Next.js project, we'd copy over our previously refined rules. When we switched to working with Flutter, we had to rebuild our understanding of best practices from scratch.

We realized that if we were facing this challenge, other developers probably were too. So we set out to create a centralized repository where developers could share and discover expert-crafted AI assistant rules.

Today, DevRules hosts rules contributed by developers from companies like Vercel, Google, Meta, and independent open source maintainers who are passionate about developer experience.

Our commitment is to maintain the highest standards for every rule in our directory, ensuring that developers can trust the configurations they find here.
